GETS KEY TO CITY FROM MAYOR
A German soccer fan who gained social media notoriety during last summer's World Cup matches has returned to Fairhope for another stop on his new tour of Fall college football games.
Freddy's comment: "We’re staying another day in Fairhope because we just don’t want to leave this place. We just got to meet the mayor and were presented with the key to the city. Such an honor and it means so much considering how much we love this place."
His real identity is not known, other than he is a "German college student from Hamburg." He always uses famous soccer player Ronaldo's face in social media post photos.
While in town he has been staying at the Grand Hotel; he has called Fairhope his favorite American town.
