October 20th work session.

BALDWIN COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

District six's Cecil Christenberry is winding up his second six-year term as Fairhope-area school board representative: their last work session was Tuesday and the final regular one will be Thursday night in Bay Minette.

Christenberry told the Times he thought it was about time for a younger generation to take over the reins; and he said he has confidence in his replacement, Fred Hardman.

He was first-elected to the school board in 2014 winning narrowly over Miranda Schrubbe;  before that he served two terms on the Fairhope city council, from 2000-2008.

After being asked why he decided to run during a school board campaign event in 2014, Christenberry replied "a voice came to me"  to get involved, much like in 1999 when he decided to run for city council. "If not you, who?"

Now he said he plans top spend most of his time at the "lake", he said.
