Fairhope's Famous Flower Clock Improved

Fairhope, Alabama

FLORAL CLOCK ADDITION

Fairhope's flowerbed clock
City crews recently added a nameplate to the city's popular flowerbed clock on north Section Street: The clock is based on the design of the actual one located downtown at the Fairhope Ave. intersection.

Adding numerals to the face was being discussed at one time as well.

Marigolds are the predominant flower, with boxwood shrubs for edging.

(Update: Yellow chrysanthemums were added later)

FOUNTAIN TURNS RED

The city's pier fountain has been dyed pink -- or dark red, depending on perspective -- to mark the annual Breast Cancer Awareness month (Oct).

Can't say much for the clock, but I do like the pink fountain. At least it has a purpose (Breast Cancer Awareness Month).

While streets crumble, dirt roads exist, a sewer line dumps #2 in the bay "managed" by Dan McCrory the Kant Man builds a flower clock. Planting flowers is a good way to draw attention away from what is really going on. Look at pay raises, travel and where our utility money is going. Focus on he clock while they spend money like drunk sailors. Clean Sweep Ripp and Chris Warner should be proud that they helped removed all checks and balances in Fairhope. Oh well we have a flower clock! At what cost my fellow rich fairhope friends?

Well said.

U ought to get your facts straight though, unlike the Ripp/Warner gang who cant shoot straight. our sewer plant is among the cleanest along the gulf. current $13 million upgrades will make it more so. Dan M. is doing a great job.

"Poop" is coming from the gigantic Auburn and Corte farms (cows, fertilizers, etc) along Fly and
Rock Creeks; marina boats dumping sewage there, unmaintained septic systems in Colonial Acres, and Montrose neighborhoods; and other neighborhoods south of town.

They oughto put a big fountain out there too. Make it a tribute to our great mayor, Tim Kant.

yeah, but its got no flowers. every one has got a watch anyway. Foley is trying, but it will never be up to high Fairhope standards.

There are a lot of pot holes now. Are any more streets going to be paved soon? Is ther a secret list somewhere we need to get on?
