FLORAL CLOCK ADDITION
|
Fairhope's flowerbed clock |
City crews recently added a nameplate to the city's popular flowerbed clock on north Section Street: The clock is based on the design of the actual one located downtown at the Fairhope Ave. intersection.
Adding numerals to the face was being discussed at one time as well.
Marigolds are the predominant flower, with boxwood shrubs for edging.
(Update: Yellow chrysanthemums were added later)

FOUNTAIN TURNS RED
The city's pier fountain has been dyed pink -- or dark red, depending on perspective -- to mark the annual
Breast Cancer Awareness month (Oct).

"Poop" is coming from the gigantic Auburn and Corte farms (cows, fertilizers, etc) along Fly and
Rock Creeks; marina boats dumping sewage there, unmaintained septic systems in Colonial Acres, and Montrose neighborhoods; and other neighborhoods south of town.
