"Pocket" Park Completed

Fairhope, Alabama

The new pocket park behind the library is complete, funded by a grant from the Baldwin Realtors Association.

"A pocket park (also known as a parkette, mini-park, vest-pocket park or vesty park) is a small park accessible to the general public. Pocket parks are frequently created on a single vacant building lot or on small, irregular pieces of land. They also may be created as a component of the public space requirement of large building projects. "

Another great place for the "nail" lady to hang. When is Fairhope going to do something about her? Missy is NOT sweet and shouldn't be allowed to live on city property.

Actually, the city council has begun discussing a new ordinance about sleeping overnight on public property.

Missy monopolized the Pavilion at the Children's Park last weekend; there were birthday parties both days but Missy, because she was living there, was the first at the Pavilion both days and the birthday party kids had to use a picnic table set back from the covered area. The police should move her out of there on weekends at least. Taxpayers have a right to expect to use the facilities that we support.

Well unfortunately the current status of law enforcement is becoming quite questionable.Where is traffic enforcement in the downtown area? The constant speed of traffic is out of control especially with in the out of town plates as they zoom around town. Most of the officers are new and from other areas.
