Fairhope, Alabama
51 S. CHURCH STREET
A deck for outdoor seating was one addition made by the new 'Ferus by the Bay' restaurant/bar locating in the former Church Street Inn property on the corner of De La Mare and Church Street in downtown Fairhope.
Owner Cody Lake opened the Ferus Artisan Ales brewery in Trussville in 2018 and expanded to Birmingham the next year according to web reports. He was quoted at the time: "We at Ferus Artisan Ales believe in creating amazing beers, adventure, and providing an unparalleled taproom & eatery experience."
"Ferus" is a Latin word for wild, untamed, etc., a characteristic of beers brewed there he said.
While the menu for the Fairhope store has not been made public yet, a description of those at the other locations mentions, "serving up everything from hoppy IPAs and creative sours to delicious sandwiches and apps."
Grand opening should be in about three weeks, according to workers at the site Sunday.
The historic Irwin/Sandoz/Jones house was constructed in 1921.

No: it's not a backbone issue. Try again. More parking is needed, not rationing our way to killing our small businesses owners and vibrant downtown.
