City residents as well as those living out in the county will be able to drop off the usual items (paper, cardboard, cans, plastic, glass) plus others like paint, batteries, light bulbs, et. al.

Will paper/plastics/metals still be picked up curbside? Can items still be dropped off at Section St. facility?

Good idea. Bad location in a residential area.

The fees are the issue especially with paint,it is one thing for a business ie: painters and contractors to pay a fee for disposal of those items which should be the case, how ever for the home owner $2 per gallon? That's a bit much. That encourages dumping.Maybe there should be an attached has-mat fee at point of sale of paint, just we are forced to do with tires.Yet the dump takes tires all the time.

as for batteries recycle companies will pay you ,better than paying to get rid of.
