Wagoner Road test well site.

BARNWELL AREA

A test well is being drilled at the west end of Wagoner Road, west of the airport.  Morrow Water Technologies is the test well drilling contractor.

If the test well is successful a production well may be installed there -- as well as a new water tank-tower, according to utility department sources.

The property owner (Blue Sky Holdings, Llc.) has agreed to donate some of the property to the city.

Three more test wells are planned as well, at other sites.

Agreed. Everyone sees the bay and thinks there is unlimited potable water. We need to learn a lesson from California and Arizona before it's too late. Our country is becoming over-populated and we are depleting our resources.

Do your own research , however, i think there are 10 states in the US with low Aquifers. We do not have a never ending supply of water underground in Fairhope, Alabama. Don’t let anyone from the City lead you to believe that everything is hunky dory here and no problems now or in the future with our supply of water. I am amazed at the new subdivisions going in that use Fairhope Water and are putting in sprinkler systems on all the lots.

Folks should Google Baldwin County, AL aquifer status and see what comes up. California and Arizona never had water, it came from the Colorado River. Big shock, the large population growth has drained it dry.
Wake up and smell the water, it is happening here.

Why, we’re from the land of reality, not the land of inheritance big profits. Ironic that the parents moved here for the peace and quiet, and the kids took the money and moved to Beverly Hills!

Having lived in south Florida Gulf coast from the 1950 to the 1980s, salt water intrusion has been a nightmare for Floridians because of aquifers running low.
